How do YOU store your ink pads? More than likely you just stick them on a shelf, in a box, or on your desk and you don't think anything about them until you need to use them. Would I be close to right? That's what I thought. The reason I know that is because that is the way most crafters store them. Is there something wrong with that? Well not entirely but there is a better way to store them on that shelf, in the box, or on your desk. Turn them upside down!

WHAT? That's crazy right? Actually it's quite sane if you think about it. Have you ever picked up an ink pad that should have plenty of ink in it but you struggle to get that ink onto your stamp or dauber and find that you have to dab over and over and over and then sometimes out of frustration, you just throw the pad away thinking that the ink has "dried up"? What if I told you that more than likely there was plenty of ink in the pad, but it was just pooling at the very bottom on the pad itself?

Gravity even effects crafting materials. If you store an ink pad with the top of the pad facing up then the ink will gradually sink in the pad to the bottom leaving the top of the ink pad "dry" or at least less than "juicy" like it was when you first bought it. So how do you remedy this? True, you could buy re-inkers to put more ink on the pad, but even that ink will pool to the bottom over time as well, instead if you turn them upside down...ink settles at the top of the pad leaving it "juicy".

Try it out and see what you think! The worst thing that could happen is you save some money on ink and that just leaves more money to spend on other crafting materials. Win/Win!
